Kids’ Gift Wish List
Recently, I gave my 4-year-old the Target Christmas toy catalog and a pen, thinking he’d browse the pages, circling a handful of things he liked… Instead, he circled approximately 90% of the items and started saying: “I want this, and this, and this, and this….” Apparently this wasn’t such a good exercise.
But I do like getting these catalogs in the mail, and using them to discover what my kids might like for Christmas. Pop over to my post on our Minimal(-ish) Christmas to see how my husband and I plan our gift giving. But I wanted to have something the kids could use to log their wish list, but also what they’re going to give to mom & dad and their brothers.
This has worked well for us – it forces them to narrow their wish list down to just 5 things. They write this out in pencil, so they can adjust their list as the Christmas Season moves along and some new hot toy hops on their radar. But I think having their wish list combined with their giving list is a nice way to keep the spirit of the season close in mind. It’s not just about what they want, but also how they’re going to give to others.
Here’s a version you can print out for your kids to help them through the season: Kids’ Christmas Present Wish List
